Vicente came out of the closet and left his wife and daughter when he was 50. He has spent the last 25 years living happily with his partner in Maspalomas. After suffering a stroke and being placed in a nursing home by his daughter, Vicente chooses to hide his sexuality, ultimately stepping back into the closet and giving up his hard-won freedom.

Born in 1976, Spanish filmmaker Jose-Mari Goenaga is a pioneer of Basque-language cinema. In 2001, he co-founded Moriarti Produkzioak with his creative partner, Jon Garaño. Following his Goya-nominated debut SUPERTRAMPS (2004) and the documentary LUCIO (2007), he co-directed the episodic drama LOREAK (2014)—the first Basque-language film nominated for a Goya for Best Picture and to compete at the San Sebastian Film Festival.

Aitor Arregi (b. 1977) is a co-founder of Moriarti Produkzioak. He co-directed the Goya-nominated documentary LUCIO (2007) and co-wrote the Oscar-shortlisted LOREAK (2014). His major hits include HANDIA (2017), which won 10 Goya Awards, and THE ENDLESS TRENCH (2019), which earned him the Silver Shell for Best Director, the Jury Prize for Best Screenplay and the FIPRESCI Prize in San Sebastián, as well as the Forqué Prize for Best Film and two Goyas.м
