Yanush grew up in a conservative Romani community in a small Ukrainian town. He is about to get married, just what his parents want. However, Yanush is gay and he is in love with another young man, Pasha. Together they decide to sneak away from the wedding and leave town, but can Yanush really do it?
Vitalii Havura is a graduate of the Karpenko-Kary Kyiv National University of Theatre, Cinema and Television, holding a BA in Film and Television Directing. His key works as a writer and director include the short fiction films CHACHO (FIPRESCI Prize at the Odesa International Film Festival, 2020) and THE FAIRYTALE (Kinokhvylia festival award, 2018); the short documentary MY GOD (Modern Ukrainian Cinema festival award, 2019); the theatrical play Mother Will Always Protect (Actual Play Week festival award, 2017); and the music video Ryba for the band TseSho (participants of the National Selection for the Eurovision Song Contest, 2019)."
