Ayla wakes up in a mountainous landscape, surrounded only by vegetation and a river. Driven by curiosity and a desire to get to know the place, she goes on a journey of discovery and diving. As she discovers where she is, she also discovers herself.
Luma Flôres is a brazilian illustrator, animator and director. Since 2017, she has dedicated herself to an authorial and experimental approach in 2D animation, and has participated in productions as animator and concept artist. In 2024, she was resident of AniMAM (Animation Research and Production Program) at the Rio de Janeiro Museum of Modern Art. “How A River Is Born” is her first film as writer and director.
