Exploring negotiations of intimacy and monogamy in casual relationships. Our two protagonists share the sweet thrill of peeking into a stranger’s intimate life, but are confronted with the question: Which is more vulnerable to talk about, sexual desires or romantic dreams?
Kauli Green is an emerging Danish director and filmmaker studying at the National Film School of Denmark. Their animated short CASUAL (2025) premiered at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival. The film innovatively combines rotoscoping, traditional cell animation, and experimental AI to explore themes of intimacy, monogamy, and vulnerability. Green’s recent directorial credits also include the short films SOMMERLUCIA (2025) and HAPPY FOR YOU (2025), and ELSKER DET FOR DIG (2025), the latter of which was shortlisted for a Robert Award for Best Short Documentary.
