1950. William Lee, an American expat in Mexico City, spends his days almost entirely alone, except for a few contacts with other members of the small American community. His encounter with Eugene Allerton, an expat former soldier, new to the city, shows him, for the first time, that it might be finally possible to establish an intimate connection with somebody.
In the past 20 years, Luca Guadagnino has directed, written, and/or produced over 20 movies, collaborating with some of the best stars in Hollywood.
Luca’s film CALL ME BY YOUR NAME was a major hit at the 2018 Academy Awards, winning for Best Adapted Screenplay, as well as three nominations for Best Picture, Best Leading Actor, and Best Original Song. It also earned 16 wins and over 30 major nominations during the 2017-2018 awards season run.
